Ozarks Ruins
Something is so intriguing about an abandoned building or home. You see the decay and destruction, but still feel the life that once dwelled within. Opening the door to a rusty kitchen makes you wonder, who cooked here, did a family share their meals around a table? Was it a happy scene? Old buildings remain full of life, as they beckon to us in their decline. Slowly being reclaimed by the plants and animals that surround them, their history, a mystery to be imagined.
It is easy to be enchanted by old structures with the remnants of long forgotten inhabitants left behind. Items that no longer held value to the original owner, now treasures to those who find them and understand their provenance and rareness. These buildings and items decay with a certain grace. That musty smell encountered upon entry, as fragrant as any perfume to the interested explorer.
Eyesores to some, neglected and a part of the past, but to those who see the possibilities in salvaging parts and restoring others they are beautiful.
